Leifeng Tower

Leifeng Tower was first built in 997 of Song Dynasty by Ch’ien Chu (Qian Chu), the local Lord of Wuyüeh (Wu Yue), to pray for peace and prosperity. Like all the ancient towers of China, Leifeng Tower was ruined and rebuilt many times. On 25th September 1924, the remnants of Leifeng Tower collapsed for the last time in history. In 1999, the Hangchou Government began the rebuilding process that finally ended in 2002, returning to people a renewed Leifeng Tower.
